Hands of Hope

As a go-to community partner in times of crisis, LEAN has naturally evolved into direct relief efforts following numerous major disasters in Louisiana. LEAN has utilized it community network and resources to provide assistance following Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Ike and Isaac. LEAN's relief has been focused on immediate basic needs(food, water, etc.) as well as with particular attention to environmental heath and safety such as LEAN re-entry protection kits following hurricane Katrina and respiratory protection following the BP-Oil spill. After the catastrophic flooding in the Baton Rouge area in 2016, LEAN partners with Together Baton Rouge to gut over 30 house for free for struggling residents. LEAN's relief efforts have been most recently applied to the making and distribution of cleaning supplies and facial masks during the Covid-19 pandemic.
